Archie’s work reflects a distinct style in a contemporary abstract approach, mixing different media including acrylic, oil, resin, copper, and wood.  “Each piece starts with a door. I am attracted to the allegory that these doors were created to open to a place inside. This process may seem backwards, but I make the frame first and then cut out the inside for the picture within.”

After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Archie took a detour and pursued a career in fine art upon moving to Arizona. He is self-taught and is well-known for his stunning copper mixed-media metalwork. He is also an accomplished artist in acrylics, oils, and monoprints.
